Senior Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer

Job description
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our core product development team building high-performance structures and mechanical subsystems for nano and micro satellites. The role involves end-to-end ownership of mechanical design, analysis, optimization, and validation of flight-ready hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop structural and mechanical components for nano and micro satellites.
Design and develop jigs and other ground equipment for satellites.
Perform structural analyses using FEA tools to validate design decisions.
Perform thermal analysis using Thermal Desktop.
Drive complete mechanical development: 3D CAD modelling, material selection, GD&T, tolerance analysis, mass optimization, and drawing release.
Support environmental qualification: Vibration and thermal-Vacuum tests.
Collaborate with electronics, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless mechanical-electrical integration.
Coordinate with vendors to manage fabrication, machining, finishing, and assembly tasks.
Troubleshoot, root-cause, and resolve issues during prototyping and system integration.
Qualifications
Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks/ CATIA/ NX/ Fusion 360).
Proficiency in structural FEA (ANSYS/ ABAQUS/ Nastran/ HyperMesh).
Solid understanding of mechanical design principles.
Knowledge of aerospace materials (aluminium, titanium, stainless steel, composites).
Experience with DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and drafting standards.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/aerospace engineering.
Experience of 2-3 years in the Space industry.
